Beautify Lunada Bay is a partnership with:
- Lunada Bay Homeowners Association (LBHOA)
- City of Palos Verdes Estates (PVE)
- Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC)
Our goal is to revitalize the bluff tops along our unique coastline using drought tolerant, native landscaping through a phased multi-year program.
We are starting Phase 1 with a one-acre Pilot Project near the Lunada Bay Elementary School. Phase 1 will include four different palates to empirically determine the optimum landscape plan to extend along the bluffs in future phases. Phase 1 also includes an more elaborate Living Laboratory, with more diverse landscaping and extensive pathways to provide a hands-on learning environment for the students at the adjacent Lunada Bay Elementary School.
We have been leveraging the deep experience base that the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy brings to our project, along with a landscape design firm to develop a realistic budget and execution plan. The plan calls for $88,650 to complete Stage 1 construction and planting, and an additional $22,500 for 3 years maintenance, water costs, and volunteer training. Once the project has been firmly established, maintenance and water costs will decrease significantly. We are currently starting our fundraising efforts to fully fund Stage 1.

Phase I is being coordinated entirely through volunteer efforts of your neighbors, and funded through a combination of in-kind services and fee waivers from the PVPLC and PVE, the LBHOA, and donations from our residents.
